Recently, a leading waterworks manufacturer approached Buckhorn Rubber to create a seal for their valves. A uniform, waterproof seal is essential to prevent corrosion of the complex metal wedge. The part would have to be totally encapsulated, with a secure bond between rubber and metal.

We initiated an insert molding process and incorporated a surface preparation technique to bond rubber to metal.
